"Once upon a time there was a pair of pants" begins the
fictional story of four best
friends first summer apart and how they stay connected with the
magic of the
traveling pants. Lena, the artist, Carma, the confused teen,
Tibby, the eccentric,
and Bridget, the jock share their amazing story through this
book.
These pants are called the traveling pants because every week,
no matter where
the girls are or what they are doing, the ones with the pants
sends them to one of
the other girls. With the pants the girls send letters to each
other about what events
took place while wearing the pants and what the girls felt when
they experience
occurred. The girls all experience love throughout the summer.
Falling in love with
various people throughout the world and falling out of love with
those people in turn.
They write each other about it all summer and they all help each
other get through
tough times by being compassionate and loving towards each other
at all times.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares
opens up a world of
strength, courage, and friendship and shows what teenage girls
really possess on the
inside. Brashares describes the unity of friendship and does a
perfect job. I think that
Brashares does an brilliant job of describing every emotion
perfectly. When the girls
are nervous about something the reader becomes emotionally
involved and hopes that
the girls can get through the situation okay. She shows the bond
between friends and
how these ties can keep them together forever.
I loved this book and I recommend this book to any female who
has ever had a best
friend. I think that Brashares does an excellent job of
describing every emotion flawlessly.
It is a hysterically funny yet amazingly moving book and should
be enjoyed for years to come.
