I Will Teach My Children    essay by Andrew Wagner, 13

She is five foot three. Her hair always long and brown. Her eyes green/hazel--depends on
what she wears. Her eyes shine in the sunlight. From her, my mother, I learned to read, write,
art, and to be giving and caring, and to chase after my goals and dreams.
My mother loves to make crafts and art work. As a child me and my mom made paper
mache bowls for items to keep at home. We also made school projects such as solar systems,
cells, teepees and dioramas. I remember always having so much fun with my mother, making
arts and crafts.
My mother had three kids (all boys) including me. Jason, Nicolas and Andrew. She has taken
care of us since the day we were born. She supported us in playing sports. My mom always
made sure we had food and water in us. She always made me a lunch and dinner. On the
weekends she would make breakfast for me.
My mother also enjoys gardening. She grows fresh vegetables to save some money, such as
zucchini, squash, carrots, peas, tomatoes, and a sunflower and some other herbs. We grew
pumpkins by accident, so we didn't have to go the pumpkin patch to get some.
From all these things, my mother has taught me how to keep things in order, because in a
garden if you slack off and don't take care of things, plants will die.
My mother has taught me to be a good person, organized and respectful. What I learned
from my mother, I will teach my children.
