iPods
or Funky Town and Shoulder Pads --by Destiny Allan
Kids
and parents are very different, not based on only attitudes but their
generations too. For example, the things our parents used to wear, has
anyone seen shoulder pads in schools these days. And the music, kids don’t
go around listening to funky town on their iPods. And speaking of iPods
parents didn’t live in a world of technology like the kids do these days.
They didn’t have digital cameras, cell phones, iPods, or mp3 players either.
When kids get up in the morning
to get dressed, they look in their closet and see regular, form fitting,
solid colored, sweaters and shirts. Unlike kids these days, parents used to
wake up and see big sweatshirts, tie die, and bell-bottoms. Shoes have
changed too, back when parents were kids most of them would just put on
tennis shoes. Now there are Vans, skate shoes, flip-flops, flats…and so much
more.
Another
thing that is different between kids and parents is music. There were very
different styles back then, like techno, rock, gospel, jazz, and a lot of
others. But these days there is more rap, hip-hop, R and B and pop music.
Technology is a big thing for kids now days. Back then there was just basic
things like television, cars, radios, and walkmans. Now there is a bunch of
different things like iPods, mp3 players, cell phones, computers, DVD
players, and iHomes for iPods, electric scooters and many other things.
Even though kids and parents are very different between
generations, it doesn’t mean they have to be different today. Parents can learn
how to use an iPod, and kids can learn to like oldies music. So even though kids
and parents are very different there are little things that make them the same
