I think there are many things that can make a student strive for good grades. One thing is that they would want to get into a good college. Another thing I think could motivate a student would be that they are playing a sport and they need the good grades. They could also want to prove it to themselves or others that they can do it.
    One thing that can make a student strive for good grades is that they might want

to get into a good college. For example if they have good grades, then it is easier to

get into a good college. But if they have bad grades it is hard to get accepted into

the college. Also, if they have good grades they don’t have to get such a high LSAT score to get into a good college. So that is one thing that could motivate a student to get good grades.
    Another thing that can motivate a student would be that they are playing a sport.

Most sports make you keep a certain grade point average. So to keep the grade

point average they would have to have good grades. Also if they keep really good

grades than they won't have to worry if the grade point average is high enough to

stay on the team. Also if they play the sport really well and have good grades it would increase the chance that they would get a scholarship.
    Another thing that could motivate a student to get good grades would be that

they want to prove to themselves or others that they can get good grades. For

example sometimes the student may be always getting bad grades because they

don’t really try. Then they would want to see if they tried if they could get good

grades. Also someone could call that person stupid and say that they couldn’t get

good grades if they tried. Then they would also want to prove to them that they can get good grades.
    Those are just some things that could motivate a student to get good grades. One is that they want to get into a good college. Another thing would be that they play a sport and need the good grades. A third thing would be that they want to prove that they can get good grades to themselves or someone else. Those are just some things that can motivate a student to get good grades.
