Do
Fad Diets Really Work? by
Sarah Hughes, Bountiful, Utah
I am going to try and persuade you to not go on fad diets. Research has been shown that they don’t work. Tons of money and time are spent on fad diet or any diets. We hear about new fad diets all the time to help end all weight problems. But really how effective are diets?
It has also been shown that most people that go on diets fail to reach their goals. The average dieter goes from one diet program to another. Also, most dieters regain their weight back or even more weight than they had before when off the diet.
Some diets tell you to eat only one thousand calories a day, when you are really supposed to eat two thousand each day. Also, many programs say to eat off of smaller plates. These techniques have been used forever and have never been very effective at all.
Basically the only two ways to lose a lot of weight without spending a lot of money are eating a healthy, well-balanced diet and doing some kind of physical activity or exercising regularly. If you don’t have any kind of physical activity in part of your everyday life than it is pretty much impossible to lose weight and maintain it being gone. It is very important to exercise and eat healthy when trying to lose weight and maintain it being gone.
Personally, I would never go into a fad diet program or go on a diet. You waste so much time and money. So why not just exercise and eat a healthy, well-balanced diet? That’s what I would do. It is a lot more effective and you spend hardly any money. It has been proven that fad diets don’t even work, when you spend so much time and money on them.
