Bang! Screech! Thunk! The doors started to cram shut.
If
you've been to Universal Studios you have probably been on a ride called the
Tower of Terror. The ride drops you 13 stories in an old rundown elevator that
takes you back in time.
Last summer I went on a ride, and it wasn't at an amusement park. The ride
I went on was at a condo we stayed at a condo in North Carolina! It all started
when my brother David, and his friend, Ashley, came up from the beach.
David went around shouting that the elevator was making creepy noises. Of
course my friend Tesha and I thought my brother was being sarcastic. David
called the elevator the Tower of Terror, but of course Tesha and I thought he
was trying to pull a joke on us, so we would have to walk down the stairs.
Ashley's dad then hollered, "The elevator is making strange noises, there
definitely is something wrong with it."
Let me ask you something, if your little brother told you the elevator was
the Tower of Terror, would you go on it? Guess what we did, the exact opposite
you would think. Yes, that's right, we sure did go on the elevator. Off we
were, dashing down the hallway to the elevator! All of our families, except my
dad who had to go to work, scrambled into it.
Ashley pressed the ground button, and the doors started to close. At the
same time the elevator was screeching, making loud thudding and banging noises.
I grabbed my friend and cried, "If we die, we will die together." All of a
sudden, the screen flashed floor one, and then ground, and it felt like we had
just dropped two stories. It turned out that we had dropped two stories!
We were on the ground, but the doors weren't opening! I was yelping and
shrieking like a lunatic. Tesha's dad then darted to the doors trying to pry
them open. It didn't work at first until her dad used all his strength. He
finally wrench the door open with his muscular arms just enough to get all of us
out, what a relief that was! We all scurried out of the elevator, I was pushing
and punching trying to get out of the elevator. Luckily, we were leaving the
next morning because our moms banned us from riding the elevator. We were also
lucky because Tesha's dad is a construction worker and is extremely strong. So,
do you want to ride on the Tower of Terror?
